Cape Town – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has dismissed as “fake news” a social media post claiming that the party is giving away R500 000 ahead of the local government elections.
The post, which was circulated on Twitter this week, has an EFF logo on it and announced the party’s manifesto launch event, which it said was set to be held in Marshalltown, Johannesburg, on September 26.
The post, however, did not give details as to how people could win.
The EFF distanced itself from the post, saying it was not affiliated to any of its structures across the country.
“This is not an EFF account or affiliated with any EFF structures across the country. It has been reported. Kindly report as well.
