Authorities in Kenya say at least 17 soldiers have died after a military aircraft crashed in the outskirts of the capital Nairobi, reports say.
The incident occurred at around 09:00 on Thursday.
The aircraft was on a training mission.
A report by The Washington Post quoted a police official as saying that six people with severe injuries were rescued from the scene in Ole-Tepesi in Kijiado county.

Kenya’s military also confirmed the crash, the report said.
Witnesses said the aircraft immediately burst into flames after crashing, according to xinhuanet.
It remained unclear how many passengers were onboard, with some saying there were 21 people and others claiming 23, a report by The Standard said.
The cause of the accident remained unclear.
Rescue operations were under way.
