Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly identified Algeria playmaker Amir Sayoud as a potential replacement for Gaston Sirino.
The Southern African reported on Wednesday that the Brazilians have long identified Sayoud, who is currently in the books of Algerian club CR Belouizdad, as a potential replacement for Uruguay’s Sirino who has been linked with a move to Al Ahly for several months.
Sayoud is the leading goal scorer in this year’s CAF Champions League, with eight goals, but won’t get the opportunity to add to that tally after his club were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Esperance Tunis, the report said.
According to Kickoff, the Sundowns technical team has made their recommendation that if Sirino is to get his desired move to Al Ahly then any equally productive replacement in Sayoud should be brought in.
Sayoud is vastly experienced having also played for the Club of the Century as a teenager while he has had stints in Bulgaria, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Tunisia in between playing in Algeria, said the report.
