Cape Town – Eskom has announced that Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented from 16:00 on Thursday, 24 April, and will remain in effect until 05:00 on Friday.
The power utility cited higher-than-expected electricity demand, the loss of generation units, and ongoing planned maintenance as key factors putting strain on the national grid.
“Despite significant progress in our generation recovery efforts, higher-than-expected electricity demand, the loss of generation units, and extensive planned maintenance have placed strain on the system,” Eskom said in a statement on social media.
