Cape Town – The case of missing child Joshlin Smith is nearing its conclusion, with the State expected to wrap up its case by Wednesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, Captain Wesley Lombard testified that charges against former accused Phumza Sigaqa were withdrawn due to lack of evidence and inconsistencies with other accused individuals’ statements.
Although the State had initially planned to call Sigaqa to testify, this decision was reversed.

Instead, Colonel Riaan Morris will take the stand to explain Sigaqa’s relevance and why she is not testifying.
Once the State closes its case, the defence will begin, with anticipation around whether Kelly Smith will testify in her own defence.
