The Egyptian government, together with the German Agency for International Co-operation (GIZ), have announced the financing of 11 projects in 2021 worth EUR132.8 million.
Through the Global Partnerships Narrative, as reported by Ahram Online, the projects will promote technical and vocational education, enhance community participation, invest in job creation through supporting the private sector, and ensure environmental sustainability through promoting the sustainable management of water. These form part of Egypt’s long-term commitment to reaching the 2030 SDGs, and will be youth-orientated.
The collaboration between Egypt and Germany is the result of bilateral co-operation agreements as well as a debt-swap programme, and forms part of an overall portfolio of projects spanning myriad sectors, valued at EUR1.7 billion.
