Mozambique is set to significantly increase its power supply from renewables, with plans to instal a 100 MW floating solar farm.

Mozambique’s electricity utility Electricidade de Moçambique plans to build the floating solar power farm, on the Chicamba reservoir in Manica province.
AfDB is providing US$25 million in financing through its Sustainable Energy for Africa facility.
Last year Mozambique added 80 MW of renewable energy to its grid by building solar power stations with a total combined capacity of 125 MW.
