Durban — Newly-elected African National Congress (ANC) KwaZulu-Natal convenor Jeff Radebe said the party’s arrogance was the reason behind it’s poor showing in the province.
Speaking during the Provincial Task Team (PTT) media briefing on Wednesday, Radebe said there are plans in place to turn the province around and for the party to regain the support it lost.
Radebe, along with 1st deputy provincial convenor Weziwe Thusi and 2nd provincial deputy Siboniso Duma said the new PTT was appointed to bring confidence back to the people of KZN.
“This is the new collective of the leadership of the ANC in KZN. We start from ground zero, as I have told the inaugural meeting of the PTT. We have been appointed to restore confidence to the ANC by the people of KwaZulu-Natal, 17% is a disaster. It reflects that the arrogance of the ANC has cost us,” he said.
“I and my colleagues come with a fresh perspective, and we want to start from ground zero, brick by brick, root and branch to ensure that all the mistakes the ANC has done previously are corrected timeously and that we get back to where we are supposed to be,” he added.
