Cape Town — The African National Congress (ANC) have strongly condemned the actions of AfriFroum for spreading misinformation to the US government.
AfriForum recently visited the USA in an attempt to get the US to recognise Afrikaners as a cultural community and to put pressure on the SA government to declare white farm murders a priority crime.
In response, President Cyril Ramaphosa said AfriForum was sowing divisions in South Africa by running to the USA to solve problems that should be handled locally.

In response, ANC national spokesperson, Comrade Mahlengu Bhengu-Motsiri, called for unity among South Africans and labelled AfriForum and Solidarity as unpatriotic.
“The actions of AfriForum and Solidarity are highly divisive and unpatriotic. Their memorandum to the US and their actions are not only ahistoric, as they conveniently forget centuries of colonialism and years of apartheid, but are also outright lies to justify their racist sense of entitlement,” she said.
She added that AfriForum’s views do not represent all Afrikaners as many have distanced themselves from the group and their actions.
“We therefore call on all South Africans to isolate these right-wing racists and focus on tackling our challenges together as a resilient nation, working with our communities,” she added.
She said South Africa has a democratic constitution on the basis of which the government is formed, and the government has the authority to engage on behalf of South Africans with other governments.
“South Africa is going through its own challenges, but our nation remains resilient, and it will not be derailed,” she concluded.
