Cape Town — South African superstar, Tyla, has continued to shatter her ceiling as she was chosen as the March cover star for British Vogue magazine.
Vogue is one of the world’s leading fashion magazines and Tyla certainly did not look out of place. She has a keen eye for fashion and has often wowed on the red carpet with her incredible looks.
She wore a bright pink top and black pants that stood out against the blue backdrop of the cover and Vogue were excited to announce her as the new cover star.
“Viral lyrics, infectious dance routines, show-stopping fashion… In the blink of an eye, South African superstar Tyla has become music’s most intoxicating new mononym. As she adjusts to life as the queen of popiano – and makes her debut on the cover of British Vogue’s March 2025 issue – Funmi Fetto travels from London to Tyla’s home town of Johannesburg, where she discovers a 23-year-old on the cusp of global domination. Read the interview here, and see the full story in the new issue, on newsstands Tuesday 25 February,” Vogue wrote on X.

According to Vogue, Joburg designer, Thebe Magugu said Tyla represented South Africa’s cultural renaissance.
“She unapologetically showcases – even boasts – about our culture. It’s a beautiful reminder to use where you are from as fuel to push you further, not something to hide so you can assimilate.” In short, the very definition of a headliner for this exciting new era,” Mgugu said.
The first time Tyla saw the Vogue cover was during an interview with American singer, Jennifer Hudson, on “The Jennifer Hudson Show”. Tyla admitted the experience was incredibly fun and she did not want it to end.
“Guys, it’s insane, like Vogue? It’s literally insane like I’m so happy. I was so excited, the team was so fun,” she said during the show.
“The photographer, all of us, we got along so well. So the shoot felt like I didn’t want it to end. You know, we were trying on so many different outfits. We were having fun with it, and I was involved with the outfits and everything. So it felt like a group thing … I don’t know, I just loved it so much. And the results, oh my gosh, yes. It’s so good!” she added.
