Cape Town – South African influencer Kefilwe Mabote recently sparked a social media frenzy when she posted a video of herself burning some of her designer clothes, including expensive Versace items.

In a follow-up explanation, Mabote revealed that her decision was rooted in a spiritual transformation.

She publicly declared that she had found God and felt the need to let go of worldly distractions, including practices like idolatry, horoscopes, and unforgiveness.

Mabote explained that burning the clothes, particularly the Medusa face on her Versace wear, was a liberating act of breaking down idols that had kept her bound.

“Burning the Medusa face was one of the most freeing and therapeutic things I’ve ever done as one of the things of breaking down the idols I unknowingly built in my heart, the very things that distracted me from fully walking with Jesus,” she said.

While she had previously given away some of her designer items to her followers, the act of burning the clothes marked a significant step in her newfound humility and faith, The South African reported.

Despite this shift, she clarified that designer clothes no longer represented her identity or purpose.

Additionally, Mabote has been gradually shifting her content focus from fashion to automobiles, showcasing her impressive car collection and hosting car shows in Johannesburg and Durban, signaling a potential change in her public persona.
