Cape Town – Rachel Kolisi celebrated her 35th birthday on 21 January 2025, marking her first birthday since announcing her split from Springboks captain Siya Kolisi in October 2024.
Reflecting on the occasion in an Instagram post, she expressed gratitude for the love and joy she felt, despite initially wanting to “sneak through” the day and celebrate better next year.
“This is 35!! I was surrounded by LOVE and JOY yesterday and I’m so grateful! Thank you for every message, call and random hugs in the street,” she wrote.
“Crazy to think how desperately I wanted to sneak through this year’s birthday and try do it better next year! There’s so much to celebrate.”
Rachel, a mother of two, also shared her appreciation for the messages, calls, and hugs she received. Siya’s brother paid tribute to Rachel on Instagram, calling her a “mother figure.”
While Rachel celebrated in Cape Town, Siya appeared to be in Antfield with teammate Ox Nche.
