Cape Town – A young up-and-coming cricketer Muhammad Ziyaad Khan tragically died in a car accident on the N3 highway near Pietermaritzburg on Saturday morning.
The accident occurred when a large container fell off a truck and caused two vehicles to crash, Laudium Sun reported.
Khan, a fast bowler, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He played for Cosmos Sporting Club with incredible passion and commitment.

Two others were injured and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The truck driver fled, and police are seeking him.
His club paid tribute, describing him as an irreplaceable member of their team.
“Today, we mourn the loss of one of our own, Ziyaad Khan, an exceptional opening and fast bowler who represented Cosmos Sporting Club with unmatched passion and dedication.
“His talent, sportsmanship, and vibrant spirit made him an irreplaceable part of our Premier League division. Ziyaad, you will be sorely missed by your Cosmos family and all who had the privilege of knowing you. May you rest in eternal peace,” the club shared a post on its Facebook page.
