Durban — Police in Kwa-Zulu Natal (KZN) have launched an urgent manhunt for the suspects who were responsible for the death of five men who were hacked to death in Inanda on Friday.
In a statement, police revealed that the five men were suspected to have been slain with a bush knife in Bambayi in Inanda. Upon responding to the reports of the murder, police discovered a tragedy.
“Police responded to reports of multiple murders and upon arrival at the crime scenes, three bodies were found at a sports ground near a school, whereas the other two bodies were discovered at another field, about a kilometre away from the first crime scene,” KZN police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda said.

Netshiunda said information at the police’s disposal suggests the victims were aged between 19 and 26 and were allegedly kidnapped from their home in Bambayi around midnight on Friday. He said their bodies were discovered at 6h30 this morning with multiple injuries and one victim had his arm chopped off.
“The motive of the killings is unknown at this stage and police are appealing to anyone who might have information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the nearest police station or call the crime stop number 08600 10111,” Netshiunda said.
