This couple that got attacked this morning are the parents of a friend from my Church. I just spoke to him now. Remarkably, the injuries are not as bad as they could have been.
The dad had 7 stitches in his head but the panga luckily didn’t go through the skull.

Police confirmed the incident and are actively searching for the suspect.
According to IOL, Otto Olivier from the Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Association announced a R10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
“Plett is one of the safest residential and holiday destinations in South Africa. Our peaceful and tranquil residential areas entice or provoke us to let our guard down, even though the reality of people with criminal intent might be lurking around.
“Please stay vigilant, especially older residents; arm yourself with pepper spray when taking a stroll or shopping,” the report quoted Olivier as saying.
