Cape Town — Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, put his political hat to one side and put his dad’s cap on as he congratulated his son, Mushavi Ratanang Malema, on his bachelor’s pass.
Julius was understandably excited, as any parent would be, to celebrate the outstanding achievements of his son. He took to his Instagram stories and shared a picture of his son where he wrote an incredible message of congratulations to his son.
“Look at this excellent bachelor’s degree. We are right in the thick of things. We are not sleeping tonight. Congratulations my boy. Tshipi ya Bokgalaka!” he wrote in his story.

According to IOL, Ratanang attended St David’s Marist Inanda School in Johannesburg, which obtained a 100% pass rate, including a 99% bachelor’s pass rate.
The Department of Basic Education reported an 87.3% pass rate, the highest in the dawn of democracy, while the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) achieved an impressive 98.47% pass rate, the highest in the past five years.
According to TimesLIVE, Malema had previously said he would continue to send his son to private school unless a law was passed compelling public representatives to use public facilities.
“We want schools and hospitals to be upgraded … they will never be of quality if MPs are not using them,” he said. “Why must I subject my child to poor education when people who are in power don’t do it?” he said.
