Cape Town — Police in Limpopo have ordered an urgent investigation after a shocking incident of business robbery, kidnapping and two counts of rape that occurred at Chuene Clinic in Limpopo.
In a statement, police revealed the details of the incident and said an unknown male suspect entered the clinic and threatened the security on duty.
“According to information at our disposal, an unknown male suspect went to the clinic, entered the security guardroom occupied by three security members on duty, whereby he pointed them with a firearm and thereafter tied two of them with their handcuffs,” police spokesperson, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said.
Mashaba said the suspect instructed one of the security guards to lead him to the clinic, where two female nurses were on duty. He pointed a gun at them and robbed them of their cell phones. He took them outside by gunpoint to the nearby bushes.

“He instructed them to undress themselves, sexually assaulted them and fled the scene. The two traumatised nurses managed to walk back to Chuene clinic. The victimised nurses were then transferred to the nearby hospital for medical attention,” Mashaba said.
Police were summoned to the scene and activated investigations immediately to trace the suspect involved. They opened a case of business robbery, kidnapping and two counts of rape.
Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, assembled a multi-disciplinary team to expedite the investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“Hadebe has also appealed to community members to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation team in locating the suspect,” Mashaba concluded.
