Cape Town — Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, praised the members of his party for a challenging 2024, however, his message was overshadowed by his poor grammar.
In an X post, Malema wrote a heartfelt message to the EFF party members for their continuous support throughout the past year, despite the continuous challenges the party has faced.
The EFF struggled during the 2024 general elections, dropping behind Jacob Zuma’s uMKhonto weSizwe (MK) Party and standing as the 4th biggest party. The party also lost 3 big names to the MK Party, as Floyd Shivambu, Dali Mpofu and Busisiwe Mkhwebane all jumped ship.
Malema stayed positive and took the chance to thank the EFF members for their great support over the year.
“Thank you very much to the people of South Africa and all the @EFFSouthAfrica ground forces and commissars for keeping us going under the circumstances. It was a challenging year, but you carried us and refused to submit to the pressures of the doomsayers,” he said.
“We closed on a high note and defeated our detractors. We wish you a joyful festive season and a Merry Christmas. Let’s enjoy reasonably with our families and friends and refuse the termination to drink and drive. We won and are more determined to defend, rebuild and advance the struggle for economic freedom,” he added.

In response to Malema’s post, some comments pointed out Malema’s poor grammar, while others were quick to say that Malema was delusional over the EFF’s performances in 2024.
