Cape Town – Self-proclaimed “prophet” Shepherd Bushiri has criticized South African media for extensively covering Chris Brown’s concerts at FNB Stadium, which attracted 94,000 fans for two days.
Bushiri, on Facebook, accused the media of bias, claiming they ignored his crossover night prayer events at the same venue, which he said drew larger crowds of up to 110,000 attendees over four years.
He alleged the media “enthrones” celebrities like Brown while sidelining religious gatherings, describing the coverage as part of a broader agenda against men of God.
“Indeed, if you hate someone, even their most beautiful face looks ugly. The South African media is trying to enthrone Chris brown and dethrone the GOSPEL. They gladly wrote about Chris Brown’s fans; “they were entertained” and my followers who attended my prayers; “they were brainwashed.” Wow. Soon South Africans will wake up to the real agenda happening in their land – hating men of God and celebrating evil. Diabolical!”
Brown’s concerts featured spectacular performances, with the artist thanking fans for their energy and support.
