Cape Town – Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has announced the establishment of a G20 Africa Expert Panel to support the G20 Finance Track.
Godongwana made the announcement during the G20 Finance and Central Banks Deputies’ Meeting in Johannesburg.
The panel will include African economic, finance, and development experts from various sectors and institutions to advance Africa’s economic and social agenda.
The panel will focus on strengthening African initiatives like the Compact with Africa and addressing reform of the international financial architecture, aligned with agreements from the G20 Summit in Brazil.
“We intend to use our Presidency to advance an African agenda. To further this agenda and ensure that we strengthen the manner in which the G20 respond to the social and economic needs of our continent, we intend to establish a G20 Africa Expert Panel to support the G20 Finance Track.
