Cape Town – The uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) party has dismissed recent attacks from EFF leader Julius Malema, emphasising its commitment to unity and refusing to engage in mudslinging.
Speaking during a media briefing, MK national command member Advocate Dali Mpofu said that the party prioritises collaboration among progressive forces, particularly through its parliamentary platform, and will not respond to provocations.
“The organisation has made itself clear about the polemics of debates with other political parties. Our approach is very simple, our members are enjoined by the constitution not to respond to any provocation — and in particular, not to attack other progressive forces.

“If other people want to do that, that’s fine, that is their decision, it is a free country. But we will not be falling into that trap,” Mpofu said.
Malema recently labelled the MK party as an “enemy” and criticised its president over alleged debts linked to the Nkandla scandal.
However, Mpofu downplayed tensions, citing historical lessons to avoid unnecessary conflict between black political parties and emphasising unity among the oppressed.
