Cape Town – EFF leader Julius Malema has ruled out any collaboration with the MK Party (MKP) outside Parliament, accusing the MKP of recruiting EFF leaders.
Malema said that the EFF would remain part of the Progressive Caucus in Parliament, aligning with MKP on issues like land expropriation without compensation.
During a media briefing on Monday, ahead of the EFF’s December elective conference, Malema reiterated his stance that Zuma is “corrupt to the core,” citing past findings from the Public Protector and court rulings regarding Nkandla.
“Me and President Jacob Zuma are very good, the same way me and President [Cyril] Ramaphosa are very good but it doesn’t stop me saying he is corrupt because he is corrupt…

I went to Zuma in Nkandla to have tea with him to SAVE THIS COUNTRY. I did not win. But unless many of you losers, I did not fail to try – BECAUSE I LOVE TJIS… pic.twitter.com/piVg0lIU74

“Zuma is corrupt and it’s not me, the Public Protector found him to be wrong. He rejected that, and we took him to court, that is why he had to pay some monies back concerning Nkandla,” IOL quoted Malema as saying.
He also criticised President Cyril Ramaphosa over the Phala Phala scandal, for which the EFF plans to march to the Constitutional Court, rejecting any involvement from the MKP or ANC in the protest.
Over the weekend, Malema described the actions of those who have deserted the party as an “assassination attempt”.
Malema’s said this following many high-profile exits from the red berets this year, with Floyd Shivambu, Dali Mpofu and Busisiwe Mkhwebane all joining Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
Speaking during the EFF’s Provincial General Assembly in Gauteng, Malema said anyone who left the party now would be making an “assassination attempt”, TimesLIVE reported.
“We must register today and for the future generation to remember the deserting of the EFF at this critical moment in our liberation struggle constitutes an assassination attempt. It’s important to not individualise this moment of infiltration and betrayal of the EFF but to place it within the above historical context,” he said.
Julius Malema comments on the departure of former EFF members, stating that while the party is thankful they chose to leave rather than harm it, their exit at this time represents an “assassination” of the party. #Newzroom405 pic.twitter.com/PrC36OV6nq
