Cape Town – Former president Jacob Zuma faces legal battles with the ANC after his unsuccessful appeal to overturn his expulsion.
Last week, the ANC’s National Disciplinary Committee of Appeal (NDCA) upheld its decision to expel Zuma for campaigning for the rival uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP), which he endorsed and led to significant electoral gains in KwaZulu-Natal.
In a statement, the party said it reaffirmed its commitment to revolutionary morality and discipline, which is a core foundation of the movement.
“It is during testing moments of trial and challenge that the most advanced cadres are distinguished by their unwavering commitment to the principles which have held this movement together, respect for organisational processes, and loyalty to the collective decisions of the movement,” ANC spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri said.

The party said Zuma’s behaviour was an example of the highest form of ill-discipline and a direct assault on the historical mission of the ANC.
