Foundation spokesperson Mzwanele Manyi rejected the legitimacy of the ANC under President Cyril Ramaphosa, claiming it has deviated from the values of leaders like Oliver Tambo.
Manyi criticised the expulsion process as biased and premature, asserting that Zuma will not relinquish his 65-year membership and views his expulsion as illegitimate.
“His Excellency president Zuma strongly rejects the notion that the ANC under the leadership of President Cyril Ramaphosa has the authority to expel him from the movement to which he has dedicated his life,” Manyi said.
He said that the conflict between Zuma and the ANC is far from resolved.

Manyi said that Zuma plans to consult his legal team and ANC structures in Nkandla, his region, and province before deciding whether to challenge the decision through internal ANC mechanisms or the courts. He is expected to address the nation on his next steps.
The ANC accused Zuma of undermining party unity and violating its constitution by establishing the MK party.
