Cape Town – Head of the Umkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) presidency Magasela Mzobe has vowed to fight for voter support in KwaZulu-Natal after the MKP secured 45% of the provincial election votes but lost control to a Government of Provincial Unity (GPU) coalition led by the ANC, DA, IFP, and NFP.
Mzobe firmly committed to advocating for voter support in KZN, saying that the province’s decision in the recent provincial election was unmistakable.
Speaking during a media briefing at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday, he emphasised the party’s determination to uphold the will of the electorate.

“We will agitate and we will mobilise the people of KwaZulu-Natal who voted for the MKP to help install the MKP as the legitimate government of KwaZulu-Natal.
“The numbers are there: 45%,” Mzobe said.
He criticised the GPU for alleged corruption and pledged to mobilise MKP supporters to push for the party to govern the province, aiming to take control before the next budget in April 2025.
The MKP is also preparing to celebrate its first anniversary at Moses Mabhida Stadium, with party leader Jacob Zuma expected to address the gathering.
