Cape Town – Police in Modjadjiskloof, Limpopo, have launched an inquest after the body of an 86-year-old woman was found near a stream.
She had no visible injuries, and a post-mortem will determine the cause of death, police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said.
The woman, from Sekgopo village, went missing after leaving home without notifying anyone, prompting a police-led search with community assistance.
“On Friday, the family of the deceased noticed she had not returned home and the matter was reported to the local police who opened a case of a missing person. A massive search was launched by police with assistance from the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Youth Desk and members of the community,” said Ledwaba,
Her body was found by a community member.
