Cape Town – After the Springboks’ 32-15 victory over Scotland, Siya Kolisi’s display of South African flag-themed underwear stirred social media debate.
Some fans celebrated his carefree attitude, linking it to his recent separation from Rachel Kolisi.
Siya and Rachel Kolisi announced their divorce a few weeks ago after over a decade together, leaving fans devastated and calling for a national intervention.
The couple, who share two biological children—Nicholas Siyamthanda and Keziah—and have adopted Siya’s younger siblings, made their announcement in a joint social media statement on October 22.
They cited mutual respect and love as the reasons for their decision, expressing commitment to co-parenting their children and continuing their work with The Kolisi Foundation.
Supporters praised Siya’s expression of newfound freedom, while others raised concerns about how his actions might impact his public image and responsibilities.
