Cape Town — As South Africans continue to grapple with the shocking news of Rachel and Siya Kolisi’s divorce, African Insider delves into Siya’s net worth, exploring the various sources of his income.
Siya and Rachel were considered South Africa’s darling couple, so the news of their divorce sent shockwaves throughout South Africa’s social media world. Married for eight years, the couple has two children together: Nicholas, aged 10, and Keziah, aged 6.
While Rachel gained public attention through her marriage to Siya in 2016, he has been in the spotlight due to his illustrious rugby career. As the Springbok captain, Siya led South Africa to back-to-back World Cup victories in 2019 and 2023. He has also represented Western Province, the Stormers, the Sharks, and Racing 92 throughout his club career.
As a result of his rugby career, Siya has accumulated significant wealth through his wages, endorsement deals, and sponsorships. According to Sassaloans, he has a net worth of R35 million, with total annual earnings estimated to be between R60 million and R70 million as of June 2024.
However, this figure may be different following his release from Racing 92. According to MyWage, Siya earns an annual salary of R18 million while playing rugby.
A video by Football Navigator also revealed Siya has a net worth of R35 million. On top of his rugby salary, Siya also has a number of sponsorship deals with Adidas, MTN, Mr Price and Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports, while he has also founded the Kolisi Foundation.
He is also on the board of directors of My Players Rugby, which oversees all professional rugby players in South Africa.
