Cape Town – A 58-year-old man in Mpumalanga was allegedly mauled to death by his employer’s pit bull early on Friday morning.
The man, who lived on the employer’s property and cared for the dogs, was reportedly attacked when he returned after an outing.

“The employer was notified and reported the matter to the authorities. On arrival at the scene, they found him motionless, lying on the ground with some visible injuries on his body. He was certified dead by the medical personnel.
“The report indicates that the SPCA put down the dog in question on Saturday,” Mdhluli said.
Police have opened an inquest into the incident, and the acting provincial commissioner extended condolences to the deceased’s family while urging calm during the investigation.
