Cape Town – Mihlali Ndamase sparked controversy during an Instagram Live session by referring to her ex-boyfriend, Leeroy Sidambe, as “After 9”, a homophobic slur.
This follows their highly publicised fallout, including Mihlali’s previous accusations of physical assault against Sidambe, which he denied, claiming she was under the influence of substances, IOL reported.
Mihlali comments implied Sidambe might be gay, stirring further speculation on social media, where users debated their ongoing conflict.
“People are so funny, ngicela ningbuzele leya [please ask that] double adapter, and after nine, which substance am I taking?
“Since you are going to be petty on social media, we gotta be asking Mr After Nine what substances am I on? That’s all I am saying. Oopsie, I took it there, and I am going there; nobody can stop me,” TshisaLive quoted her as saying.
Many criticised Ndamase for her remarks, accusing her of being homophobic and questioning her motives in making the allegations public.
Mihlali Saying Leeroy is an after 9 shows how bitter she is without him.
She’s trying to ruin his reputation.
