Cape Town — Minister of Sports, Arts, and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, has continued his war of words with Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema.
The feud began during a National Assembly plenary session when Malema repeatedly referred to McKenzie as a “pantiti” (jailbird), highlighting McKenzie’s criminal past.
Malema refused to retract his statement, saying that calling McKenzie a jailbird was not vulgar but a factual acknowledgment, and said he was proud to admit it.
In response, McKenzie, who leads the Patriotic Alliance, pointed out that his name was on the ballot, and the voters had chosen him.
Addressing Malema again at a Heritage Month launch in Pretoria, McKenzie said that he was not insulted by the comments.
He further noted that when French President Emmanuel Macron invited President Cyril Ramaphosa to a function in Paris, it was McKenzie whom Ramaphosa chose to represent him, as reported by TimesLIVE.
