Cape Town — After sparking engagement rumours all over social media, South African superfan Joy ‘Mama Joy’ Chauke has laid it all to rest. Her confirmation was revealed through clips of her embracing traditional wifely ‘makoti’ duties.

Since embarking on her romance-infused trip to Paris, in which she also had the opportunity to attend a couple Olympic games, Mama Joy has taken to her timeline sharing clips of her cooking traditional South African meals for her French lover, a mysterious man dubbed as Papa Joy.

In true South African fashion, the superfan was seen cooking pap in a three-legged iron pot for her fiancé, with several videos posted on X.

“Mamajoy and Thonie taking SA to France look at this capturing france bringing the land home,” she captioned one post.

Two other clips read “Makoti wa France” and simply “Makoti”.

In the same breath, the superfan also posted a video of Papa Joy’s first ever taste of pap, asking supporters what exactly their thoughts were on this cultural exchange.

“SA Look at Papa Joy eating Pap for the first time look at Thonies husband encouraging papa Joy all ingredients inside what do you thinkSA,” she wrote.

With love actively floating around in the air, fans are seemingly in support of her relationship and have wasted no time in wishing her all the best with her coupled-up ventures. Additionally, many took to her comment sections to express gratitude for the clear representation of South African culture in France.
