Cape Town – Former President Jacob Zuma remains defiant following his expulsion from the ANC, according to his representative, Tony Yengeni.
Zuma, who was expelled for supporting and forming the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP), expressed dissatisfaction with the ANC’s decision process, criticising the use of a virtual platform for his disciplinary hearing rather than an in-person meeting.
Yengeni revealed that they were taken aback by the expulsion news, which was leaked on social media.
Speaking during an interview with Newzroom Afrika, Zuma, who was initially suspended in January, believes he deserved a more respectful and personal approach given his long service to the party.
“He feels they needed to acknowledge his contributions to the ANC and deal with him in a more family way than to treat him like a malala pipe of some sort,” Yengeni said.

“Msholozi is unmoved, he believes that the platform used to take him to DC is not the right one. He does not understand why his own movement, which he served for so long, wants to take him to a DC through a computer and not person-to-person so these serious issues that are confronting him are discussed between comrades.”

Although Zuma has 20 days to appeal, it remains uncertain if he will.
