Cape Town – The uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) Party has announced that its leader, Jacob Zuma, will consult with his legal team regarding his expulsion from the ANC.
The expulsion, revealed through leaked draft documents, was based on findings that Zuma compromised the ANC’s integrity by collaborating with the MK Party.
Zuma has 21 days to appeal the decision.

“Umkhonto weSizwe and on behalf of president Jocob Zuma expresses profound shock and dismay upon learning fr media sources about an alleged leak from the ANC National Disciplinary Commitee..
“… This leak is not an isolated incident but the climax of a series of repressive actions that disturbingly echo tactics once used during apartheid,” the party said.
It added: Umkhonto weSizwe will not passively watch as these grave injustices against its former leader unfold. President Zuma will engage his leagl team to urgently determine the course of action and ensure that justice is served.”
The ANC suspended Zuma in January after he endorsed the newly formed uMkhonto weSizwe (MK).
In the May 29 elections, MK secured third place with 14.5 percent of the vote, impacting the ANC’s performance.
The ANC itself received 40 percent of the vote, its lowest since coming to power three decades ago, holding 58 seats in the 400-seat National Assembly, with the ex-leader now leading MK.
