Cape Town – President Cyril Ramaphosa is addressing Parliament on Monday in response to the recent debate on the Opening of Parliament Address in Cape Town.
The president’s speech, which was delivered on Thursday, 18 July, to a joint sitting of the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), outlined his administration’s priorities and plans for the coming year.
In his Opening of Parliament Address, Ramaphosa touched on several critical issues, including economic recovery, job creation, and measures to combat corruption.
The debate that followed saw robust discussions from various members of Parliament, reflecting diverse perspectives on the president’s proposals.
On Monday, Ramaphosa will provide his response to these discussions, further clarifying his administration’s stance and proposed actions, the presidency said in a statement.

On Tuesday, 23 July, he will return to the National Assembly to table The Presidency Budget Vote. This session, scheduled for 14:00 at the same venue, will outline the financial allocations and priorities for The Presidency in the upcoming fiscal year. The Budget Vote Address is a significant event, as it provides insight into the government’s spending plans and priorities, reflecting its commitment to addressing the nation’s most pressing issues.
Following the Budget Vote Address, a debate will ensue, allowing members of Parliament to scrutinize and discuss the proposed budget in detail.
Ramaphosa will then deliver his reply to the Budget Vote debate on Wednesday, 24 July, at 14:00, also at 15 Roeland Street.
This reply is expected to address any concerns or suggestions raised by MPs during the debate, providing further clarification and reinforcing the government’s budgetary commitments.
