Cape Town – Tony Forbes, the father of the late South African rap icon AKA, recently shared his deep yearning for his son, who was tragically murdered in February of last year.
Taking to Instagram, he posted a heartfelt tribute featuring a photo of himself alongside a screen displaying AKA’s image, accompanied by a poignant message dedicated to the rapper.
“Don’t worry boy, you and I will sing 🎶 together like we talked…I promise ❤️ it’s Friday again and I miss you more than ever, it hurts so much, I wonder what you are doing now, who you are with, did you remember to wish Ma and Pa happy birthday 🎂, what you want to say to me…so many questions, come to me 🦋” he wrote.

Touching tribute from Lynn Forbes
Last month, Lynn Forbes, mother of the late Company hitmaker, opened her heart in an emotional Instagram post as well, sharing that visiting her son’s grave has become a more comforting experience over time. Pictured beside his tombstone, she expressed how these visits ground her and bring her peace.
“Visiting your grave has become easier to do. It brings me so much comfort, grounds me and gives me peace at the same time.” she wrote at first.
Lynn also shared how she keeps her late son updated on his daughter Kairo’s life.
“In my dream, you asked me to visit often and enjoy this peaceful setting and you were right. Talking to you, updating you on what’s happening with Kairo, the family, anything I think you would want to know, makes me feel more connected to you. Sometimes, I find comfort in just sitting quietly with you to think and pray. I miss you terribly but my heart is at peace. Visiting your grave has become a joyful and peaceful experience that brings me comfort and keeps your memory alive and strong. ❤️” Lynn concluded.
