Cape Town – The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) has announced extensive road closures around Pretoria’s Union Buildings ahead of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s inauguration on June 19, 2024.
Roads including Stanza Bopape Street and Government Avenue will be closed from 3am on Wednesday until 6am the next day.
This event, attended by dignitaries and foreign Heads of State, will see alternative routes like Pretorius Street and Park Street recommended.
“The Tshwane Metro Police Department, together with other law enforcement agencies, will be deployed to monitor the street closures,” the TMPD said.
Rietondale Park will offer parking with shuttle services to the venue, while residents can obtain permits for access from designated centres.
