Cape Town — African National Congress (ANC) President, Cyril Ramaphosa, was boosted by the promise that Limpopo will secure the party enough votes in the province.
Ramaphosa was in the province this past weekend and gave a moving statement the Siyanqoba Rally at the Malamulele Stadium in the Vhembe region. He received a warm welcome from party supporters as he promised them the party would be decisive in winning the provincial elections in Limpopo, The Citizen reported.
“I want to assure you. We go to this elections with great confidence. We will properly describe the origin of our confidence when we go to the national Siyanqoba Rally, where we will easily have more than 100 000 people gathered together,” he said.
“We want it to be known to all in the country that the ANC is going to this elections holding the banner of the ANC high, holding our heads high and knowing that the past 30 years, the ANC, working together with our people, changed South Africa,” he added.

According to Sunday World, Ramaphosa said the the party expects to gather around 80% of the votes in the province and said the party would demonstrate the source of the party’s confidence at its final rally at FNB Stadium on 25 May.
“We stand on the cusp of a great victory by the African National Congress. The ANC is not going to fall below 50%. The ANC is going to have an outright majority,” he said.
Ramaphosa said the ANC deserved to remain in power because of the party’s achievements in government since the dawn of democracy in 1994 and acknowledged the party’s ambitions to combat key issues plaguing the country such as loadshedding, poverty and inequality.
“We are continuing to work to transform our economy, particularly here in Limpopo, to ensure that it is inclusive. It must be an inclusive economy that is able to work for all.” he said.
