Cape Town – Leon Schuster, the well-known comedian and filmmaker, has reortedly revealed that the back pain he suffers from has led to depression.
Despite undergoing two surgeries, he awaits another operation to address lingering issues, facing delays due to weight concerns, Times Live reported.
“I can’t immediately [have the operation] because I’m overweight and that’s because of my inactivity, though I am on a serious diet. He [doctor] wants me to lose 10kg because my tummy is too big and he wants to operate from the tummy.
“I’m eating very little. I’m on these diet injections but I’m not feeling that I am losing weight. I have been in the gym my whole life and all of a sudden there’s complete inactivity. I have to lie on my bed. I can sit for an hour, then I have to lie down again because the pain is eating me up,” the report quoted Leon as saying.
While grateful for support, he remains determined to persevere, drawing strength from his past challenges and the plight of others.
Last August, the 72-year-old veteran entertainer underwent his initial surgery after sustaining injuries from a fall while filming “Mr Bones 3: Son of Bones,” available on Showmax and featuring notable stars like Tumi Morake, Jerry Mofokeng, Jay Anstey, and Tobie Cronje, as reported by IOL.
Later, Schuster faced another setback when he fell again, necessitating another back operation.
