Cape Town — Tributes have poured in following the tragic death of South African actor, Mpho Sebeng, who died in a car accident in Potchefstroom on Sunday morning aged 31.
The family confirmed his death in a statement on Sunday, and thanked family and friends for their support, but have asked for some space during this difficult time, family spokesperson, Oupa Morake, said.
“Whilst the family appreciates the immense outpouring of love and condolences, the family requests some space to process the news.Details of his home going ceremony will be communicated in due course and we request that you continue to hold the Sebeng family in prayer,” Mokrake said.

According to IOL, Sebeng was born and raised in Soweto and established himself as one of South Africa’s most talented young actors. He made a name for himself in the SABC drama series, ‘Justice for All’, and has acted in multiple Netflix and Mzansi Magic shows. He also earned a nomination for Best Actor for his role in the ‘Ring of Lies’.
