Cape Town – Former ANC deputy president David Mabuza has downplayed the threat posed by Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party to the governing ANC.
Despite recent polls suggesting potential erosion of ANC support to the MK Party, Mabuza asserts that the ANC has encountered more significant challenges in the past.
He cited previous obstacles such as the formation of COPE (Congress of the People) and the presence of the EFF (Economic Freedom Fighters) as examples.

Mabuza considered neither the EFF nor the MK party as formidable challenges to the ANC.
“We have been through this journey before. We went through the formation of COPE [Congress of the People], which was very formidable in my take. The EFF [Economic Freedom Fighters] is not really formidable. The MK party is not really formidable in my take.”
