Cape Town – Mpumalanga police rescued two people after they were hijacked and kidnapped near Hazyview.
The victims were taken from a primary school in Nyongane after attending a meeting on Workers’ Day, police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli said.
At around 5:40 pm, three armed suspects robbed them at gunpoint while they were assisting one of the attendees whose car had a mechanical issue.

Three armed suspects forcibly took them and drove away in the boots of two VW Polos.
“Later that night, the two victims were safely located and the two vehicles were found abandoned.
“The police are in pursuit of the suspects and anyone who knows their whereabouts is urged to call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via the MYSAPSapp. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous,” Mdhluli said.
