Johannesburg — Joburg Water confirmed it is hard at work to repair a burst water pipe that left residents in parts of the city without water yet again.
Joburg Water confirmed that teams will be conducting repairs on a 711mm burst pipe in the central region. Water would be closed to facilitate the drainage of the system and to ensure repairs can be conducted. Repairs began early on Monday (25 March) morning and will be completed by Tuesday (26 March) morning.
Among the areas affected include Linden, Kensington, Malanshof, Cresta, and Randpark. Joburg Water has contingency measures for the affected areas until the repairs are completed.

According to EWN, those areas are some of those already hardest hit by water interruptions over the last month. It’s understood that lightning struck the Eikenhof pump station and affected supply. Joburg Water says it will ensure that supply is restored to the affected areas as soon as possible.
Joburg Water also confirmed that it fixed low water pressure in Halfway House after some houses were experiencing low to no water due to a underground burst pipe. Halfway House and Waterfall were the two areas affected mainly.
Joburg Water said it fixed the butterfly valve and now water has begun flowing to the affected areas, with pressure set to build by today.
