Cape Town — Springbok rugby captain, Siya Kolisi, gave fans an update on social media after he underwent surgery on his arm and he assured them that all went well.
Siya is currently contracted at Racing 92 in France following a big money move from The Sharks in April last year. He took to Instagram to let fans know that all went well and he will start his rehab and recovery, telling his fans and followers that he’ll be back on the pitch soon.
He shared a picture with his family by his side as he left the operating theatre, enjoying a baguette as his first meal.
“Operation went well! Will be back soon 💪🏾 First meal after 🥖 ☺️ merci @rachelkolisi

Siya’s arm surgery is the second time in the space of a year that he’s gone under the knife following surgery last year to repair a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). He recovered in just six months to lead the Springboks to their fourth World Cup title in France in October last year.
Many of his followers, including teammates, other sportsman, and fans, took to the comments to wish Siya well in his recovery.
“Speedy recovery my brother🙏🏻” Springbok teammate, Cheslin Kolbe, said.
“See you soon brother! Recover well 💪❤️,” former Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson, wrote.
“Speedy recovery skipper 🙏🏽💪🏽” Bafana Bafana captain, Ronwen Williams, commented.
“Speedy recovery Captain! Glad the operation went well!” @Margaret_Richansen said.
“Healing prayers & a speedy recovery to our Captain 🙏 Your family got your back 🥰💯🫂” @labistourcarol added.
