Cape Town – Convicted killer and rapist Thabo Bester along with his accomplice Dr Nandipha Magudumana, are set to appear in the High Court on Wednesday for trial preparation related to Bester’s escape from a correctional facility in May 2022, where he was serving a life sentence.
The duo was apprehended in Tanzania in 2023.
Magudumana claimed Bester forced her to flee the country with him, alleging kidnapping.

During a previous court appearance, Magudumana was unable to enter the dock due to illness.
Charges against three co-accused were withdrawn, leaving nine remaining.
Bester, who has changed legal representation multiple times, now plans to bolster his legal team with prominent lawyers.
The state prosecutor declared readiness for a pre-trial conference in the High Court.
