Cape Town – Police have issued a warning to the public, urging them not to take money found at or interfere with active crime scenes.
This advisory came in response to a cash-in-transit robbery that occurred on Wednesday near the Mandela sports complex in Hammanskraal.
“According to a preliminary report the driver of a cash van and his two crew members were driving along Hamman road in Hammanskraal from the N1 freeway when they were intercepted by a group of armed suspects who rammed into the cash van with a silver Mercedes Benz C180.
The looting at scenes of CIT Robberies is not stopping.
This was earlier today north of Pretoria.

“It is alleged the suspects fired gun shots at the guards and then blew up the cash van before they fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a white Ford Ranger,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda van Wyk.
