Cape Town – Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the attempted murder of a 70-year-old lawyer in the Eastern Cape.
The attorney was shot by two unidentified gunmen while entering his office in Vincent, East London on Friday morning.
According to police, the assailants fled in a silver Mercedes Benz.
The victim, who suffered upper body injuries, was hospitalised, and the arrested suspects face charges of attempted murder.
More charges could be introduced as the investigation progresses.
