Cape Town – Police in Mpumalanga are seeking suspects following the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old woman in Carolina.
The victim, a mine manager, was shot as she was about to leave for work.
Police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli said that authorities were alerted to the incident, and upon arrival at the scene, they found the victim in the driver’s seat of a stationary bakkie with gunshot wounds.
“Police and paramedics in Carolina were alerted about the shooting. On arrival at the scene police found a bakkie idling with the victim motionless in the driver’s seat,” said Mdhluli.
The woman was declared dead by paramedics, and the police are treating the case as a murder.
The motive behind the killing is unknown, and it is unclear if any items were stolen, Mdhluli said.
The police are encouraging anyone with information to come forward through Crime Stop or the MySAPS app, ensuring confidentiality and the option to remain anonymous for informants.
