Cape Town — The ANC has made a bold promise that it will solve the energy crisis and bring a permanent end to the load shedding that has plagued the country over the last decade.
ANC president, Cyril Ramaphosa, was speaking at the party’s 112th anniversary celebrations in Mbombela where he said the ruling party was committed to resolving the electricity crisis, saying that more energy has been brought onto the grid, eNCA reported.
“Electricity is still a challenge, let’s admit that. Load shedding is still a challenge but we are going to solve the load shedding problem. We are bringing more and more energy onto the grid and, Mpumalanga, the whole nation needs to stand up, and thank you, for being the province that lights up the whole nation,” Ramaphosa said in his address.

In addition to ending the energy crisis, the ANC said their priority also lies in fighting crime and corruption as they prepare for the upcoming general elections later this year.
ANC secretary general, Fikile Mbalula, said the they intended to delivered many of it’s intended promises, while Ramaphosa is likely to have to repeat last year’s promises, due to insufficient progress on many of the challenges that the party and country have faced in the past.
