Cape Town – EFF leader Julius Malema has urged President Cyril Ramaphosa to promptly announce the date for the 2024 national and provincial elections.
Speaking in Durban ahead of the party’s election manifesto event on February 10th, Malema criticised Ramaphosa’s term as marked by failure and insisted on an immediate election date.
“Ramaphosa must accept that his term, that has been defined by failure, has come to an end and give the nation an election date so it can prepare itself for a future that does not include him. On the 4th of February 2024, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) will hold its second registration weekend, and the EFF encourages all unregistered South Africans to register to vote and for those who have voted before to check if they still appear on the voter roll,” Malema said.
MALEMA: As a result, we call on Cyril Ramaphosa to immediately announce the election date for the 2024 National and Provincial Elections, as there is no logical or reasonable excuse to prolong this announcement any longer.#EFFPresser

The EFF leader also expressed concerns about ongoing power cuts blaming them for adversely affecting the economy, students, and healthcare facilities.
The EFF plans to unveil its detailed 2024 election manifesto on February 10th, emphasizing realistic commitments rather than empty promises.
